Should we have a Rs5000 bank note in Mauritius?
It seems that you can easily spend Rs2000 in one go nowadays because the cost of living has increased drastically. Going to a nice restaurant, you bill can easily come upto Rs5000 for a group of 4-6 people. If you go to your food shopping weekly or on a fortnight, you can spend Rs2500 without realising it.
We already have Rs25, Rs50, Rs200, Rs500, Rs1000, Rs2000 available to us and the last time a bank note was issued was back in 1999. It's been a decade now and things have changed, so does that call for our next Mauritian money? What do you think?
