Should we have a Rs5000 bank note in Mauritius?

It seems that you can easily spend Rs2000 in one go nowadays because the cost of living has increased drastically. Going to a nice restaurant, you bill can easily come upto Rs5000 for a group of 4-6 people. If you go to your food shopping weekly or on a fortnight, you can spend Rs2500 without realising it.

We already have Rs25, Rs50, Rs200, Rs500, Rs1000, Rs2000 available to us and the last time a bank note was issued was back in 1999. It's been a decade now and things have changed, so does that call for our next Mauritian money? What do you think?

If the government keep on increasing bigger bank notes, it's going to devalue the money. Take for example some countries in Africa where they have high denominations, you can pay something like 400,000 of the currency to buy simple things like bread & butter which makes it really hard to really understand the value of the money.

lol I have a hard time with smaller notes such as Rs500 and Rs1000 and you want a Rs5000 bank note. It won't work!

Nopes Rs2000 is by far enough. If you spend too easily, then you can have a credit card and blow up your money :)
