Where can I buy shares here, and make profits?
If you want to trade then you need to create an account with a stock broker agency. These brokers are the ones licensed to trade on the stock exchange; they act as the middleman between you and the company in which you want to invest. As such, you as an individual you're not actually allowed to trade on the market.

There are quite a few, and on the top of my head I can recommend you Associated Brokers Ltd, SBM Securities and MCB Stockbrokers. And as for how to make profits, I think those above have rightly answered your question.

Which car should I buy?
I'll still advise against buying a car right now though. Unless you've got Rs 100K-150K, you won't get a relatively "good, reliable, and safe" car.

I see you already have the mentality to save on fuel! :p lol

Can anyone recommend a trusted orthopaedic surgeon?
Thanks a lot, I'll try to get into contact with them as soon as possible.

Which car should I buy?
Oh I feel your pain! Once I got my car, it was really really hard to travel by bus again. I don't miss the 'comfort' of the buses on my route though!

Another thing to think about; if you get a car now, will you be able to cover the fuel and repair costs yourself?

Khush_Mendossa | 15 Apr 2012 19:42
Which car should I buy?
Yeah as Gices said, save for some time to be able to buy a "better" car. Else, you'll just end up spending far more than Rs 30,000 if you buy a car in that price range!

But then again it's better you buy your car when you finish Uni and start to work! :p

Can I modify a comment I made?
Cheers for the answer. I sincerely forgot about using the contact form! I will surely remember to use that henceforth.

I hope we get some more persons to contribute to CleverDodo in the near future.

How far is it possible for the society to provide equal opportunities for all the citizens?
The issue here is if we can remove any bias or arbitrariness from the society and make the recruitment or selection process a true and fair one. I personally think we have a long way to go before we are even close to achieving the above situation.

In our country there are many things to consider when discussing equal opportunities for all citizens; where is that person born, his/her upbringing, his family's background/"power", his/her "friendships", and most importantly how much money he/she has.

As gices mentioned above, corruption is the principal reason why many believe equal opportunities do not exist. We've all seen how the government jobs are "given" to political agents. We even had one member of the parliament acknowledging this fact. Even in the private sector there is corruption while recruiting; that is if they're even formally recruiting.

How far is it possible for the society to provide equal opportunities for all the citizens?
"Jobs in the government are seldom given on a merit basis and go into the hands of people who not necessarily have the right skills but have connections to acquire the posts."

Don't you think this also happens regularly in the private sector?

Who is the richest person in Mauritius?
It could well be the Lagesse family. It's just a hunch though, don't take my word for it.

gices | 05 Feb 2012 10:41
Will you pay to go see Adnan Sami concert in Mauritius?
I won't go, I'm not that keen to pay at least Rs800 to go watch his performance. He's a very good singer and actually has some nice songs, but I find it rather hard to pay so much for his concert.

I was awaiting the concert of Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, however there's no news on this one following its cancellation earlier this year.

Is takeaway food becoming more popular than cooking at home these days?
I see two main factors to explain this; time constraint on the new generation of the working population and the ease with which the takeaway foods can be bought - not forgetting the choice of takeaway foods now available. And as "gices" mentioned above the increased standard of living is surely also behind this situation.
