Cheaper protein supplements are of lower quality. If you do your research well, you'll find that those protein powder which are cheap are not well absorbed by the body and therefore you would need to take more of that protein shake which would cost you even more and take you a longer time to achieve results.

Therefore it is better if you save a little bit more money and buy a well known brand for the whey powder. Remember that it's supposed to be a supplement and not your main diet. People taking up bodybuilding need to make a lot of sacrifice to get a ripped body and that starts with the diet (control your intake, eat plenty of fish, lentils etc which are good sources of protein). The more natural food that you can take the leaner your body will be and the less it's going to cost you in the long run.

If you really want a cheap protein option, then try Casilan along with some extensive training and then move on to a better protein powder.

Keep in mind that protein supplements makes you gassy, so depending how many shakes you're going to take in a day, you might end up stinking up the whole place :P

Hi, thanks for the answer. To be honest, my price range is between rs1000 t0 rs2800. The problem is that at Universal Port-Louis, they sell optimum whey gold protein at rs3800 but you can get it at rs2500 at other places. I'm looking for a place where you can get it at a reasonable price so that I can buy it there instead. Btw Casilan is a waste of money. thanks for the answer

@LilOkie : I've translated both of your comments to english because we're on the English version of the site (/fr/ is for the french version and /cr/ for creole). This will make it easier for other users who have the same problem in finding your question.

I hope you don't mind.

Have you joined a gym? Usually the trainers in the gym can get you whey protein at a cheaper price.

There's a place in Port-Louis but I cannot remember the name of the shop nor the street. Let me know if you can travel to Port-Louis and I'll get the shop details from a friend.

It was Universal but my friend told me about Arena as well. He's taking something called Extreme Nutrition apparently and he gets it over the internet.

Have you tried getting your whey protein online at all?
